Public Murals

My role as a muralist is to introduce common subjects to a wide audience as interpreted through my perspective of how I see the world.  As with many muralists, my mural designs introduce themes that are relevant to a contemporary audience, including themes related to history, religion, culture, and education, just to name a few examples.  Visually, I would describe most of my murals as a blend of photo-realism and abstraction. One of the most unique aspects of these paintings is the collaborative art-making process I use to create these large paintings.  On any given project, numerous assistants are involved in the making of a mural, whether it’s a small group of college interns working on a small private commission to dozens of adults and hundreds of kids working on a major public artwork.  Whatever mural I’m working on, each design is created with the goal to create a mural that is inviting to any viewer.
